Raised wooden terrace CUMARU

A raised wooden deck is a popular and aesthetic outdoor feature that can add value to your property. It is also ideal for creating additional living space in your garden or on your balcony.

Once you have chosen your wood, you can begin construction by following these steps:

1. Prepare the ground: Before you begin construction, make sure the ground is leveled and compacted to prevent any sagging or warping of the deck. You can also add a layer of gravel underneath to improve drainage.

2. Install the posts: The posts will serve as supports for your raised deck. They must be installed at regular intervals, generally every 1.5 meters. Use a spirit level to make sure they are straight and secure them securely to the ground with concrete.

3. Install the joists: The joists are wooden planks that will be installed perpendicular to the posts. They will serve as the basis for your terrace boards. Make sure they are aligned properly and secure them to the posts with metal brackets.

4. Add the boards: Once the structure is in place, you can start placing the deck boards on the joists. Use special screws for exterior wood to ensure a strong and durable fixing.

5. Allow space between the boards: It is important to provide a small space (approximately 5 mm) between each board to allow water to drain and prevent the appearance of mold or rot.

6. Finish with finishes: For a durable and aesthetically pleasing deck, you can add finishes such as wooden or PVC skirting boards around the perimeter of the deck. You can also apply a wood treatment product to protect your deck from bad weather.

7. Maintain your deck regularly: To maintain a beautiful appearance and extend its lifespan, it is important to regularly maintain your deck by cleaning the boards and checking the general condition
